Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a Distinguished Chair in Psychology at the University of California Davis and is the Director of its Center for Public Policy Research. The university is renowned for her pioneering the science of the eyewitness memory of children and using child victims to serve as witnesses in court. The number of publications by Professor Goodman is extensive She has also received a number of grants and is the recipient of numerous awards international and national levels. She has consulted with various countries and agencies around the world on policies as well as the study of children's victimization within the court system. She serves as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center which was previously known as the Multidisciplinary Interview Center - of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional associations, including those of the Association for Psychological Science and the American Psychological Association (Divisions Experimental Psychology Developmental Psychology Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology-Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56). Prof. Goodman is a fellow of the Psychonomics Society Society for Research in Child Development American Professional Society on the Abuse of Children and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division and three Divisions of Child and Family Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
